Here I am, doing something that never thought I would do. I'm pretty private, and I've always thought, cynically enough, that these kinds of websites are just a cry of existential angst.
Well world, I exist!
I guess for a first post, I should explain the origins of my name. I rang a friend in college and his roommate picked up and couldn't understand what the hell I was saying. I speak softly... bad habit. So he says, it's Wootz on the phone for you. And the name stuck. Can you figure out my name from that?
I think this blog will be a reminder about how I usually finish second. Who knew that an 8 year old girl would take this name first? So I settled for a bastardized spelling of Wootz. Yeah, I know it was never really written down anyway, but that's how I always thought it should be spelled. This happened to me in gmail too. The shame is that I've known about this site for a while, but it never really occurred to me to take the name first. Of course, it didn't occur to me that I would ever be posting here either.
On that note, I'm off until my next post, whenever that'll be.
