Damn Men's Clothing
After some prodding to get off my ass and put something up -
I slept kind of late last night and I was slightly confused when I heard the doorbell ring. Fedex! with the Mets - Yankees tickets! I ordered them off ebay the same day the Mets won the first game. I got excited because that meant the third game is going to be a good one. It's either going to be the deciding rubber match or the Mets will be going for the sweep.
Sweep!
But that also meant that I couldn't go back to sleep. So I went on fatwallet, which is customary, and saw that JC Penny had a sale on suits from 9a-1p. Yeah, I get in moods where I can shop like a girl. So I went out to LI store because I figure there would be parking out there. And there was. Too bad it was the smallest one I've ever seen (what happened to land of the strip malls, LI?) and it only had women's stuff.
It's 12p and I'm thinking if I could make it to Queens Center in time or if I should just go home. The lure of a bargain is too much.
Thirty minutes after cruising on a clear LIE, I find myself in the suit section with 10 minutes to go. Score. I pick out the Stafford suit and starting walking to the checkout. Upon further review, the play is overturned. No sir, the sale only applies to Stafford Classic suit. No sir, unfortunately we're out of your size. *Cough* Switch and bait *Cough*. So instead of hanging the suit back up and leaving, I thumb through the other suits they have. I wind up buying a suit without trousers.
If you've seen me, you know not fat or skinny. I don't have any extra body part protruding out that shouldn't be. Sorry, my 6 foot plus 200 pound Adonis-like friends that I'm not cut from the same mold as your 44L's and 46R's. If I get a 40S, then the waist is too small. If I get a 42S, then the length of the suit is too long. I don't think it's possible for me to get a properly fitted suit without getting it tailored. I think ideally, I would want a suit with a 42 chest and then length of maybe a 38S with a 35 waist. Is that so hard??
(Yeah, you clever people can probably figure out my weight and the length of my stride from this.)
This rant is dedicated to the ladies who would rather not have a hard and fast measurement system so that somewhere, somehow, there is a company with a size zero that they can fit into.
